“Things are Different Now”
Things are different now, something happened to me
Since I gave my heart to Jesus
Things are different now, I was changed it must be
Since I gave my heart to Him
Things I loved before have passed away
Things I love far more have come to stay
Things are different now, something happened that day
When I gave my heart to Him
– Stanton W. Gavitt
Those are the words to a chorus that we are learning, and I find myself singing, humming or whistling the song often.
Just a simple chorus, but what a powerful message!
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new” 2nd Corinthians 5:17
That is a great poem.
Thanks for sharing it!
Have a great day Lindsey!
There is definitely truth to that… most certainly there should be a difference in us, so that we may shine for Christ.

Lindsey, I’m a church musician. I don’t think I have heard that chorus, but I’d like to. I’m responsible for finding new music all the time for the worship team. This one has a great message and I’ll look for it online. I put a poem on my blog today too. It’s a real old fashioned one, called, “Jesus, the Carpenter”. You might like it. http://morthanenough.blogspot.com

Oh, I really like the words to that poem! Thank you for sharing it!
Thank you for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment. I used to always be nervous throwing pizza dough, but I soon got the hang of it!
Have a great weekend.

I was so happy to see the words to this chorus on your blog. My uncle, Stanton W Gavitt wrote this song. Another one of his choruses is “I’m so happy and here’s the reason why, Jesus took my burdens all away”.
If only we would remember to live like it is true every day!

Could you do me a favour, I will like to sing this song onceagain on a CD I am planning to make myself. Please how can I contact Stanton W. Gavitt for permission to use the song?
